Candle Care

Want to get the most out of your candle? Check out our top candle care tips (a.k.a. How to Not Abuse Your Candle)

1. First burn sets the tone

Let the wax melt all the way to the edges on the first burn. This prevents tunnelling, gives you maximum fragrance, and makes your candle feel appreciated.

2. Trim your wick. Always.

Before every burn, trim to 5mm.
A trimmed wick = cleaner burn, stronger scent, less mushrooming, and zero soot chaos.

3. Keep it clean

If soot gathers on the tin or jar, wipe it down. It’s candle care, not candle shame.

4. Burn in 2–4 hour sessions

This keeps the wax burning evenly, preventing your candle from overheating and burning out too quickly. like all of us on a Monday.

5. Never leave a burning candle unattended

We love ambience. We do not love accidental fires. Keep candles away from pets, kids, flammable things, and over-enthusiastic houseplants.

6. Keep it level

Place your candle on a heat-resistant, flat, stable surface. No wobbly candle adventures.

7. Stop at 10mm

When you get down to the last 10mm of wax, it’s time to say goodbye. This protects the tin from overheating.

8. Store like a pro

Keep your candle somewhere cool and out of direct sunlight so the scent stays strong and the wax stays looking fine.

9. Lid on = scent locked in

When not in use, pop the lid back on to protect the fragrance and stop dust from settling.

10. Reuse or recycle your tin

Once finished, give your vessel a little wash and repurpose it; plants, trinkets, office bits, secrets… we don’t judge.
